Dr. Tuovinen’s research concerns biodegradable waste materials and biological applications in energy production, mining and drinking water industry. Olli H. Tuovinen obtained his undergraduate degrees at University of Helsinki and completed his Ph.D. degree at University of London (England). He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Waite Institute, University of Adelaide, South Australia, and later at University of Helsinki, Finland before he moved to the United States. He has been a faculty member at Ohio State University since 1978. Dr. Tuovinen has been a visiting professor in Brazil and Japan and has taught training courses in India and Peru.
